Six Hawaii girls are currently on the US Soccer National team for their age group or in the player pool and invited to National camps.
Sunshine Fontes ('01) is currently traveling with the U17 US Women's National Teams for a tournament in Italy and Slovenia from April 19-30. The Sophomore attends Pearl City High School and plays club for the Honolulu Bulls.
D'awncey "Kitty" Jones Black ('01), Jones Black is a teammate of Fontes, with the Bulls, attends Kamehameha Kapalama and is also a member of the U17 US National team player pool.
Akari Shimizu ('00), a Junior at Makua Lani in Kona was invited to the U18 US Women's National Team Camp, April 15-22 at the National Training Center in Chula Vista, California. Shimizu is one of 24 players invited to camp. Akari plays here club ball with for the Kona Crush Soccer Academy.
Aislyn Crowder ('02), a Freshman at Maryknoll School was one of 24 '02 born players invited to the U16 Girls National Camp in Chula Vista, California March 18-25. Crowder plays club with Hawaii Rush.
Phoenix Miranda ('03) of Aiea is one of 36 players invited to the U15 Girls National Camp at College Station, Texas. Miranda plays for Hawaii Surf (Boys) and Leahi Soccer Club (Girls).
Joining Miranda at the U15 National Camp is Kihei, Maui Forward Caetlyn Johannes. Johannes, a product of the Valley Isle Soccer Academy also plays with FA Maui (Boys) and Leahi Soccer Club on Oahu.
